<title>topic Best Array Controller for a ProLiant 5000? in Disk Enclosures</title>
    <link>https://community.hpe.com/t5/disk-enclosures/best-array-controller-for-a-proliant-5000/m-p/3467003#M14967</link>
<description>Alrigh dated kit I know but since I have primary &amp;amp; secondary PCI, and EISA slots figure I ought to be able to do something better... I have 2 x SMART-2/SL controllers installed and a SMART-2/DH on standby. Essentially I'd like to take best advantage of the 10K Wide Ultra drives I have (with the hot pluggable backplane) internally mounted and get the best bandwidth possible to an external ProLiant Storage System F/1 or F/2 (with similar drives). I'd like something with a battery backup (so I can expand RAID 5 on the fly as I upgrade disks) and would put emphasis on write over read given the choice.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any suggestions on what I should be looking for / at?</description>
