    <description>Yes but... very hazardous process.  You have to be sure the firmware and drivers are fully compatible to both controllers before even trying this.  And it's NOT supported by Compaq.</description>

      <description>I have to expand an array at a Smart221 Controller (which doesn't support online expansion). &lt;BR /&gt;Wouldn't it be possible to temporarly change the Controller to a modell that supports online expansion (2DH for example), then expand the array and afterwards change back to the original 221 controller. &lt;BR /&gt;I think, the main question is, if the 221 will be able to handle the expanded logical drive. &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;Greetings from Dortmund. &lt;BR /&gt;Martin</description>

      <description>I used a 2sl with battery backup cache. Straight swap out. Expand the Array - refit the 221. NT4 didnt notice!</description>
