Recently I had a Smart Array 5300 Controller go out in my ML350. I replaced the Controller and all went well for about 2 weeks.

Now every couple of days my ML350 will become unreponsive to the network and to the terminal screen. I have to reboot the machine. When the machine comes up, after initializing the arrays (Drive C is on a RAID-1 and Drive D and E are on a RAID-5), it displays a message about finding a new array and I have to push 'F1' to continue the boot process.

After logging into Windows 2000 Adv. Serv., I check the 'Event Notification' log under the properties of the Controller and it gives me this:

05/17/2005 12:35:46 The Event Notification driver Cpqcisse.sys of Array Controller in slot 2 has started.
05/17/2005 08:11:52 Logical Drive 1 of Array Controller in slot 2 has changed from status code 1 to status code 0. Status Codes: 0 = OK 1 = FAILED 2 = NOT CONFIGURED 3 = INTERIM RECOVERY MODE 4 = READY FOR RECOVERY 5 = RECOVERING 6 = WRONG PHYSICAL DRIVE REPLACED 7 = PHYSICAL DRIVE NOT PROPERLY CONNECTED 8 = HARDWARE IS OVERHEATING 9 = HARDWARE HAS OVERHEATED 10 = EXPANDING 11 = NOT YET AVAILABLE 12 = QUEUED FOR EXPANSION 13 = UNKNOWN
05/17/2005 08:11:22 The Event Notification driver Cpqcisse.sys of Array Controller in slot 2 has started.
05/16/2005 18:27:32 Logical Drive 1 of Array Controller in slot 2 has changed from status code 0 to status code 3. Status Codes: 0 = OK 1 = FAILED 2 = NOT CONFIGURED 3 = INTERIM RECOVERY MODE 4 = READY FOR RECOVERY 5 = RECOVERING 6 = WRONG PHYSICAL DRIVE REPLACED 7 = PHYSICAL DRIVE NOT PROPERLY CONNECTED 8 = HARDWARE IS OVERHEATING 9 = HARDWARE HAS OVERHEATED 10 = EXPANDING 11 = NOT YET AVAILABLE 12 = QUEUED FOR EXPANSION 13 = UNKNOWN
05/16/2005 18:27:32 Physical Drive on DEVICE ID 0 on Port 2 of Array Controller in slot 2 has failed. Failure Code: 0x35.
05/11/2005 12:48:03 The Event Notification driver Cpqcisse.sys of Array Controller in slot 2 has started.

Next I run 'Drive Array Diagnosis' and the log it spits out gives me this:

SLOT 2 SMART ARRAY 5300 CONTROLLER ERROR REPORT:

Array accelerator parity read errors: 100

There is clearly a problem. Is it my array contoller or disk drive? FYI, I have updated to the latest firmware and drivers.
