Hello leyearn,

it's been quite some time that I worked with an RA3000... I would first try a hot-swap of the defective disk with a good one. Do this while the RA3000 is running so that the array controller can detect the change.

Wait a bit and go back into SWCC to see if the RA3000 has started rebuilding the data.

Hello
First make a connection to RA3000 using SWCC.
Replace the failed disk (disks are hot-swap).
Do refresh in SWCC. Replaced disk will not be in any group.
Do right click on degraded unit and select "reconstruct". On another sub-window you will be asked to choose the disk for reconstruct.
Select disk and wait for reconstruct process to finish.
RA3000 does not do automatic reconstruct if you do not have spare disk defined.

RA3000 has SBB disks (they look like brick).
Locate the failed disk and pull it out from disk shelf. Then put the new disk into this possition.
This can be done without turning off the power (and it has to be done without turning off the power).
Every SBB disk is hot-swap (or hot-plug)
After you do this reconstruct the unit as told before.
