Ben:

There is a utility called Diskpart.exe that will allow you to extend your 200 GB partition to the full available space. It can be done on the fly without a reboot. I suggest making a backup first.

Here is the link for diskpart info...

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;325590

Steven

We have extended the size of a logical drive using the Array Configuration Utility on an MSA1000.

Checking Disk 3 in Windows Disk Management, I see 200GB Allocated and assigned a drive letter and 44GB Unallocated.

I am unsure what I need to do with this unallocated space. The only option I get when I right click it is 'New Partition'. If so do I create an extended or Primary partition. ?

Many thanks
Ben.
Hi Ben

You will have to create extended partion on unallocated space and then assign a drive letter to it

Regards
Mahesh

Hi Mahesh.

Can I not use the same Drive Letter ?

Also I presume I can do this on a live system without affecting users ?

Thanks
Ben.
