what you are talking about is raid migration from raid 1 to 5. None of the smart 2x family have this capability the controllers that can do this are as follows SA431 the SA4200 the SA5300 and the ROC [Raid on Chip].

I am running a Compaq Proliant 2500 with Windows NT Server. the server has a Smart 2/P Array Controller providing RAID 1 with 2 arrays. Array A has 1 logical drive with 2 physical drives and Array B has 1 logical drive with 4 physical drives. I would like to change Array B to RAID 5, is this possible without having anything on my system wiped out?
