I used the Compaq Array COnfig utility to add the drive but I have noticed that it has progressed to to certain percentage then goes back to zero. You might want to run a consistency check of the current set first. THen do a full scan of the new drive surface for defects. The expansion did finally finish and I think it had a lot to do with the fact that I had SQL Server databases on this particular RAID set.
