I know what FCP (Fibre Channel Protocol) is, but I don't know about SCIC and a short peek via Google did not really help.

Ah, a race condition. Sorry, didn't see you corrected question.

FCP is the mapping for SCSI commands to the Fibre Channel infrastructure.
