swd77:admin>

That's the default prompt. You can now change the IP configuration with "ipaddrset" as I said or do the zoning setup through the command line interface.

The switch has a serial port and an ethernet port. It comes with a special serial cable that is ready for a PC.

Attach to the switch with a terminal emulator (Window's Hyperterm is sufficient) and login to the switch. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "password".

You can use the command line to set up the zoning, but you can also configure the ethernet port. The command is "ipAddrSet" - just hit return and you get prompted, but don't assign an IP address to the FC interface.

After you have set up the IP address, you can connect using "Telnet" or a Web browser.
