Here is my scenario, I have 3 drives in a RAID 5 set. If I add 2 more drives to the controller can I make them a RAID 1 set? Next, could I use Server Magic to move my data from the RAID 5 set to the RAID 1 set? I would prefer to not have to backup and restore. Support or not support is no an issue. Of course I would still have a backup.

Thanks.

We are migrating a few servers from having individual arrays to a SAN. We want to migrate the RAID 5 arrays to RAID 1. There are two partitions on the current arrays, one boot and one data. Is it possible to convert from RAID 5 to RAID 1 without losing the boot partition.

No it is not. Depending on the controller that you have you can migrate from a 0 to 1 and to a 5 but not backwards. You will have to backup restore after creating new array
