Does anyone know what is the difference between the DS-BA35X-DA and DS-BA35X-FA Personality modules (or any of the others out there, for that matter), and is there any compatibility issues with an XP work station.

That would explain why it isn't working. Thanks! Do you know anything about the DA-35X-FB? Can 2 shelfs be daisy chained with that module? It seems to be called a 2 channel.

Correct, the DS-BA35X-FB is a dual-channel I/O module. Works together with the BA35X-MF self termination module, which sticks into the back of the box and replaces the "jumper module".

I know it's possible to chain two single-bus boxes via some 'address magic' and turning off termination on the I/O module. You need external 'tri-link' connectors (H8861-AA).

Can't tell for the dual-bus one, sorry.
