Hi!

I have a failing disk in my RAID1 mirror.
I have a new disk ready.
Can I hotswap the disk and the hardware RAID do the rest or do I need to activate it in the ACU?

You can hot-swap the disk. In fact - you should NOT replace the disk while the power is off, because the SmartArray controller configuration is stored on the disk and the controller might get confused if the replacement disk has meta-data, too.

I would still check with ACU what the rebuild priority is - I rather like a fast rebuild with an impact on the performance than running without RAID protection for a longer time due to a low rebuild priority.
