      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;Hello,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I need to move an external storage array to a new machine, this array is used for data only not the OS.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Currently its attached to a HP DL360, and it needs to be moved to a new HP DL360,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can i move this device easily without losing all the data ?</description>

      <description>Sure you can if it is a real array like MSA1000, 1500, an EVA or so!&lt;BR /&gt;A real array means it has a built in controller! &lt;BR /&gt;I assume you are talking Windows!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You have to make sure that the array is properly attached and recognized by the new server. (HBA, driver, mutipathing etc)&lt;BR /&gt;Then you will see a new disk for each LUN.&lt;BR /&gt;Give it a drive letter and here you are!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you are talking about JBODs connected to a smart array controller it is still possible but you need to provide more details!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers&lt;BR /&gt;Peter</description>

      <description>HP StorageWorks 4300 Enclosure&lt;BR /&gt;Model 4314R&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;connected via&lt;BR /&gt;Smart Array 6402 &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;it linux the storage array holds data not OS, its going to be plugged into a new DL360 with a  &lt;BR /&gt;smart array controller</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;did this over the weekend, it was fairly straightforward, the most difficult thing was working out the scsi device name so that i could mount the disks.</description>
