I have 4 disks of 32gb each in a RAID 5 array controlled by a 532i card. When I recently tried to add another disk to the array the configuration utility insisted that the disk could only be added to a new array (array B) not the array already installed (array A) Any ideas anyone?

Paul,
Did you try "expand array" option ?
When you add new SCSI drive,
go to ACU, click your array A and select "expand array".
