How do I find out what argument I give to
symdev show?
It will not that that long ID.

Each Symmetrix disk will have an internal name identified by a 16 bit ID. This should be the argument. Do "symdev list". The first column of the output will give you an idea. Optionally you can do "sympd show" on a native OS device file path.

Hi etc,

you need to give symmetrix device number with symdev show.

Ex:

#symdev show 001 -sid 1234

You can use "syminq" and find the symm device number followed by Symmetrix serial number.

You can use "symdev -help" or man symdev to find more options.
