msa50 question

I would like to attach an msa50 to a dl385 g2 with a p600 raid card installed. can the msa be raided to 5 or 6 using the p600? Or does it have its own raid card installed? Thanks for the time.

Are you asking if the P600 will configure a RAID5 or 6 (ADG) on an MSA50? Yes it will.

P600 Specs:

Since you can daisy-chain 2 MSA50s to one P600 controller, you can also extend one array across 2 boxes. 20-drive RAID5 if you prefer.

what if the p600 is being used to raid the dl385 in a raid 0 and raid 5 setting all ready? would i need to install another raid card?

Yes you will need another P600 array controller. Both Ports on the existing P600 will be connected to the internal disk backplane, and I do not believe that you can split the channels.
