While you do not necessarily need to use SSP in this config it would be good practice to use SSP to ensure that unintential misconiguration does not lead to the wrong servers getting access to the logical drive(s)

As we have a two-node Exchange cluster connected to an MSA500GB storage unit, is it necessary to use SSP to define which logical drives are visible to the cluster nodes? Or is this unnecessary as Microsoft Cluster Service is managing the disk resource assignments?

Does logical drive assignment in SSP become necessary in a three-node active/active/passive cluster configuration?
