Hi,
I have the same problem with MSA20 (firmware 2.38) connected to Proliant ML350 G3 with SmartArray 6400.
The two fans been exchange rates and the problem is not resolved.
Message in HPSIM:
Storage system fan status change. The agent has detected a change in the fan status of a storage system. The variable cpqSsBackplaneFanStatus indicates the current fan status. User Action: If the fan status is degraded or failed, replace any failed fans
Thankyou for your help

In the past month we have had 4 MSA20's with the same fan degraded error..
Has anyone else ran into this issue?
What have you done to fix the problem, besides replacing the fans.. that doesn't always fix the problem.

The fans are connected to a midplane board, has this been replaced?

The problem is a high chance of being the 7 segment display board (the LCD display that you see above the rear left fan). This will show a fan error when it has started to degraded.
