Is this just the case with ESX, or MSA1500's in dual path. We have a number of MSA1000's in Windows and they act 'normally' in active/passive. ie RH says Active on LED screen and LH says Standby and light 9 is off.

MSA1500 Redundancy

We have a dual path setup with VMware ESX 3.01 an MSA1500 with MSA30. Firmware is 5.20 ie active/passive. Controllers are both showing light 9 on ie active and light 16 is on ie redundancy active. All seems to be fine, preferred path is RH controller and all LUNS are on RH controller. Fails over OK.
We ahve restarted the MSA1500 no change. We shutdown and removed the LH controller and replaced it with another, it cloned firmware OK but still light 9 is on for both units.
Concerned that controllers indicate active/active when in fact it is active/passive.
Anyone any ideas?

Don't worry, that is normal. Both controllers are Active, we only allow data down one path.
