topic Smart Array 6404/256 in Disk Enclosures

I purchased a Smart Array 6404/256 and installed it into my rp3440-4 (HP-UX 11.23) server. The Smart Array is connected to my MSA30 D-B which has six 72GB hard drives on each channel.

My question is with the stats that I am getting on the card. When I run sautil /dev/ciss4 the Array accelerator (cache) information gives me the following information.

Array Accelerator Board Present?.... yes
Cache Configuration Status.......... cache enabled
Cache Ratio......................... 50% Read / 50% Write
Total Cache Size (MB)............... 128
Read Cache........................ 064
Write Cache....................... 064
Transfer Buffer................... 000
Battery Pack Count.................. 2
Battery Status (pack #1)............ ok
Battery Status (pack #2)............ ok

If I am reading this correctly the Total Cache Size is only 128MB with Read cache being 64MB and write cache 64MB. I downed my server and pulled the 6404 card and the memory says that it is 256MB.

What am I missing? How can it say that it has 256MB Cache but only 128MB Cache shows up? Would I get better performance if I increased the Cache?
