I'm guessing here... but I just had CV working in a very similar config... I think it's the JRE. I used 1.3, I think - well, it was 1.something.

So, maybe give getting an earlier release of the JRE, and see if it works.

Good luck

I just checked - I used JRE 1.2.2... here's where you can get it: http://java.sun.com/products/jdk/1.2/jre/download-windows.html

From those messages, it sure looks like it's failing to install properly. Try installing 1.2.2, and try it again. Let us know how you make out.

Good luck

Sorry I didn't answer your direct question...

When you launch CV, it will open a browser (IE) and display a base page that looks a lot like TopTools.

...and yes, the JRE is required.

I hope this helps.

Thank you Vincent.
I'd a call from HP local engineer, and below is his words:

HELLO !
There is a same case like this ,"Command View VA SDM V 1.0 is not ready for localized OS support".

by the way, I'm from Taiwan, use Traditional Chinese version of Win2000. and "a same case" mean a Japanese client's response.

see you

Adam C.
