      <title>MSA1000 HDD RED indicator</title>

      <description>I have MSA1000&lt;BR /&gt;array controller F/W 4.48.B342&lt;BR /&gt;EMU version 1.86&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;the MSA1000 has problem in bay 1,6,7,9,11,12 and 13&lt;BR /&gt;the hard disks ware install in this bays is working properly&lt;BR /&gt;But the indicator lights (active and online) for this hard disks are RED&lt;BR /&gt;(in normal case shoud be GREEN)&lt;BR /&gt;when install this hard disks in bay 2,3,4,5,8,10 and 14 they indicator lights for hard disks are normal (GREEN).&lt;BR /&gt;the MSA1000 still new&lt;BR /&gt;now 6 HDDS installed&lt;BR /&gt;any someone help me&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Best Regards&lt;BR /&gt;A. omar&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;you can check the status of the msa from ACU.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you're running windows, check the installation cd which comes with the storage. You could install the ACU and from there just navigate. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you attach msa1000 to openvms server. Use the serial cable which comes with the storage and attach it to rz45z port at the controller and the other end to your notebook serial port. From your notebook hyperterminal/teraterm, perform the following to check disks and controllers.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt; show this&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;gt; show disks&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I fear the msa1000 backplanes is faulty. It would be best you call your vendor for replacement.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Assign some points if this answers yr question, thanks!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
