Hi all. I've got an msa1000 with redundant controllers and embedded 2/8 switches. firmware is at 4.x. right noe I have not setup any redundancy. my questions are:

what are your opinions of going from active/standy to active/active fw? what's the difference and is it recommended or nice try but don't go there?

what are your opinions of the MS storage tools (SMfS, MPIO, etc)? i'm looking for a simple solution to manage the san and get rdundancy setup with a minimum of fuss and hardcore san expertise (which I lack).

thanks
mark
