I have two EVA4000 arrays managed by an appliance server running CommandView 6.0. I would like to know how to add another user to CommandView. I have an intern whom I would like to be able to review the arrays configuration to input into the documentation we maintain.

Any input would be appreciated.

Stuart

Hi Stuart,

In CV EVA 6, user administration is based on Windows authentication.

Therefore to add a new user, you need to create a new user in Windows, then add that user to the Storage Users and/or Storage Admin group on the SMA.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Rob

The group names begin with "HP ", but I think you would have found it yourself. The "HP Storage Users" group provides read-only access.

Uwe & Rob;

Thanks for the input. Is the HP Storage group already created, or does it need to be created to add users.

I will pass this information on to our Windows Admin, so he can build the user.

Stuart

The groups are added by the Command View EVA installer. Usually, those are local groups on the system where CV-EVA is installed.

We're running 9.2.

And there seeems to be no local Groups Created.

According to the fellah that installed CV 9.2, he simply picked a particular group in the domain the CV server is on. We need to add another user but there is no local HP Group.

Anyting changed in CV 9.2?
