The EVA4400 is supported Direct Connect to Windows 2003 (32 and x64 64bit) but some HBAs will not support Boot from SAN in that case. Windows 2008 does not support Direct Connect at this time. It is not supported with RHEL 4 or HP-UX 11.23, but there are so many different supported OS version to check, that I haven't looked at them all. Which one(s) do you want. With only two FC ports per controller and the EVA currently needing to be to the Command View EVA server via FC, direct connect really isn't much of an option.

Do you think these could work for direct attached configuration:
-MPIO (2 paths per server)
-Windows 2003 + SQL cluster with two direct attached servers (with CV EVA on one of them)?

It is not recommended to put applications on the Command View Server. HP doesn't test this combination, so you would need to do your own testing to confirm it works, and again everytime there was a new patch for CV or the application.
