Compaq Smart Array 2HD , 9x HDD + Desktop PC

Hello to you,
We recently dumped few old servers but I took some parts of it.

I have a BIG (LONG) Raid Controller Compaq SmartArray2HD.
I connected it to PCI slot on my desktop, and connected one HDD to it.
When computer starts I can see Controller seeking for HDD.

It shows an message "you must run configuration utility" . quits and goes to loading os.
Obviously nothing happen from here.

I read that in order to run such utility I must download smartstart cd which i DID. My Desktop PC is unable to boot from this is as its not a HP Server.

My questions starts here.

2. is there any way to start Configuration utility, configure a partition a disk etc and install os on a desktop pc ?

How could I erease all data from those harddrives without a Server now ?

If any one did try to connect such a long card to a desktop motherboard and successfully kicked off a OS and would love to share experiences can always send me an email ;)

U did not inform which model or part number SmartArray controller card U install in Ur PC...Can U check also it compatible product in Ur system..& also inform Ur PC model...

ehm, well.
Compaq SmartArray 2DH PCI - this is whats written on it, and BIOS shows this model too.

Ok thats controller site.

HDD - 18.35GB 7200 RPM SCSI SCA 80 PIN
This is connected through extension SCSI 64pin to SCA 80.

I don't really know why do you need to know what is the spec of the computer because it doesn't metter. Controller should would an all types of PC that contains PCI slot.

Its a oldish computer Duron 1200 with 256MB ram DDr 400 on KT266 northern bridge.

Works fine, Controller seem to boot up fine.
