Hi,

The product that is used by EMC to perform
disk performance analysis on their 'symmetrix'
range of products is called 'optimizer'

You can of course use sar -d N N but considering EMC and other SAN's use buffer caching, this may give an incorrect indication. My choice would be to use the measureware component of glance as you can accumulate the data and produce a number
of different reports in many formats.

You can download it from www.software.hp.com or it will be on your Application CD set. There is a 60 day trial version you can use.

-Michael

Hi,

Looking to tools I can use for measuring throughput of my HBA attached to EMC, I came across 'pong' & 'lwpstat' but when I tired, it reported

::> pong -n 0x011400
Pong, socket call: Protocol not supported

'0x011400' is the local N_Port id when I ran 'tdutil /dev/td0'

Am i using it correct? Please advise me. Thanks.
