Hi,
you can run evaperf from the mrtg or cacti perl script:

cacti:
http://www.cacti.net/

mrtg
http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/
Does anyone know more about EVAPerf client remote connect? I am looking for more details on it:

1. When was it released?
2. Which CVEVA bundle it comes with.
3. How to download/install it?
4. Any separate documentation? (I know CVEVA userguide covers it a bit)

Thanks in advance.

Its EVAPerf 8.0 (CVE 8.0)
Install the following on your desktop:
1. install the .NET framework.
2. install evaperf.
3. Configure evaperf server ipaddress using
"evaperf server" command.

the whole procedure of remote evaperf configuration is described in the CVE8.0 user guide, from the page 43

Thanks,

Got some more questions for you :)

I assume that this function is introduced in EVAPerf v8 only. Will it work with previous versions of EVAPerf if I install v8 on my PC and connect to any older version remotely?

What does MRTG/Cacti do? I just went to websites and looks like they are more for Network statistics. Any particular script you are talking about?

Hi,

evaperf

each version of evaperf is bound to the CVE version itself, so they are officialy supported within each CVE version -> all versions are described in this thread (my post):
http://forums12.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1262443

mrtg/cacti

they can be used for the snmp perf monitoring of all the snmp devices (nas/san storages, san switches, etc.). The needed things are snmp mibs and simple scripting (e.g. perl), see some cacti scripts bellow and mrtg documentation as well for the structure of the solutions

cacti scripts

you can found the cacti scripts for e.g. the SAN switches here:
http://www.debianhelp.co.uk/cactitemplates.htm

cacti documentation
http://www.cacti.net/documentation.php

mrtg documentation
http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/doc/index.en.html
