In our VA7100 array we have all diskâ s amber light flashing, we want to know if it is normal and what is the problem if itâ s not.

I can't open your attachment but from memory the amber flashes when a host tries to identify a dirve and also during the auto format precess.

I agree with you that but they are flashing all the time during VA normal functioning.

Without reading all the logs it looks to me like you have an internal problem with your array, because of man I/O related messages.

All disks blinking amber is very often related to an array controller problem.

How about an "armdsp -a ..."?

BTW, the firmware is a bit too old.

HP22 is latest, you have HP18.

Yes we have HP18 for VA and HP05 for disks. If it is a firmeware problem why they are blinking despite that there was no update for any RFU or software?

Your C2 controller is totally missing in the result output.

Do you have 2 controllers installed?
If you have, C2 is dead - hence the lights.

Your firmware indicates a single controller as a problem.

Newer firmware can also handle single controller configurations.

From the start we have only one controller installed. Would yhis cause a problem for the HP18 firmware ?

I wonder if it possible to use armmgr command with â I option on each disk to stop flashing its amber LED.

For exemple like the following for disk 1 :
armmgr -I M/D1 off

???
