topic multipath -v2 vs multipath -v3 in Disk Enclosures

multipath -v2 vs multipath -v3

I see some people's messages that "multipath -v2" doesn't show anything but "multipath -v3" does. Mine has the same problem. Can anybody tell me the difference? Man multipath only says "2 + print all info : detected paths, coalesced paths (ie multipaths) and device maps".

I use RH Linux 5.3, kernel 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5.
