Continuous Access - setting parameters in san

Hi,

Aptpolicy should be set to 1, but I see in the manual that DLS should disabled. Anyone knows how critical this patameter is? Can it be changed online?
Is it necessary to lock the speed on the switchports?
I was told that best practice for CA was to stay away from autonegotiate.

Hi,
APTPOLICY=1 the switch must be disabled

DLS/IOD can be set without diabling the switch

DLS (dynamic load sharing) - should be disabled

DLSSHOW
if DLS is set then
DLSRESET

IOD (in order delivery) - should be enabled

IODSHOW
if IOD not set then
IODSET

it is allways best to set manualy the port speed not allowing the possible speed negotiation in place...

the typical CA remote replication setup with arrays on local and remote sites are two fabrics connected by 2 ISL (interstate links) in each fabric.
The rules and distances should be described in the mentioned SAN design reference guide - chapter 8 - SAN fabric connectivity and switch interoperability rules
