What you mean by "directly"? You need a smartarray HBA installed in the server.

I mean i don't want MSA20 Job connected to the MSA Controller (and controller to the SAN), instead i directly want JBOD connected to the the server.

In fact you can connect like this:

server with smartarray ctrl <--> MSA20 (direct SCSI).

To do this, what needs to have on the server?

The server is having one Emulex HBA, and inside there is a smart array controller.

To connecting MSA20 directly, you must insert SmartArray controler in Proliant PCI-X or PCI-E slot.
