so, that means, 2047G is the maximum possible size we can assign to when create another vdisk from the disk group.

Hi,
We had an EVA4400.
one disk group is using 1T FATA hard discs.
CV 9.0 is telling us the Capacity is 6414GB,
we are hosting three Virtual discs from this disk group. two of them are 400Gb, one 5Gb, they are all RAID5.
Weird thing is:
General tag of this disc group shows the following info:

Capacity
Total: 6414 GB

Available (estimated)
Vraid0:2047 GB
Vraid1:2047 GB
Vraid5:2047 GB
Vraid6:Not available

1. why the RAID 0,1 and 5 are having same available space.
2. the available space is far too less than we should have. We should have 6414G -(400G + 400G + 5G)x1.28= 5400G.
Where is the rest of the space gone? and why they showing the same amount of available space under different RAID settings?

We don't have any snapshot created, don't have containers.
really strange.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!

1. Command View EVA does NOT show free space in these fields - it shows the maximum size possible for the next virtual disk, and that is apparently 2047 SWGB.

Yes, according to the CV 9.1 user guide, that should change with XCS9.50.x/CV9.1, but in a customer advisory I saw it seems not to work correctly :-(
