topic EVA controller as a remarketed product issue in Disk Enclosures

Hi,

I want to buy an EVA controller to use as a spare part for my existing EVA storage. After sending the following part number AD554A (located at the back of the existing EVA) for quotation for a new EVA controller, the HP Distributer is telling me the following:

According to the price list this item is obsolete! It only exists as a remarketed product and those are not supported in our area

I don't understand the statement above very well. Does it mean that if one of my existing EVA Controllers (A or B) fails, I can no more get a replacement part to buy ?

I may be in a critical situation in any moment from now if I don't get a perfect replacement part that matches the Original or the existing one ?

Please Advice.

Regards,
Berag

Hi Berag,

The part number AD554A is for the whole EVA4000, not just the controller.

http://h18006.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12234_div/12234_div.html

That part number is obsolete, because it is no longer sold as new by HP. There shouldn't be any issues getting hold of just a controller.

Try searching on PartSurfer...

http://partsurfer.hp.com

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Rob
