    <description>Matt, my worry is that 0:0 is degraded, but still working at present. Were you able to enter the array controllers BIOS to see if it gives you the same representation of the disks as in hpacucli?</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've got a DL380 G3 with a 2 x 36gig RAID1 set. One of the drives failed, so it was replaced. It didn't automatically rebuild, so I had a look in hpacucli.       <description>Matthew, are you able to get any downtime on the box to check if you get the same error presented in the array controller itself? (from the BIOS) or is this not possible? I am wondering whether your ACU is fully up to date and also your array firmware?</description>

      <description>Downtime is possible, as for it being up to date? heh no. it isn't. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This box hasn't been touched since it was installed (RHAS2.1). I only recently got the root password off the people who were meant to be supporting it.</description>

      <description>I've updated the smartarray firmware, still showing 1:6 as missing. the hpacucli version is a bit old (7.70-12.0), but that's due to it being an ancient RHAS2.1 server that I've only recently gotten the root password for. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The latest version of hpacucli won't install due to dependencies. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Drive 1:6 would be in bay #6? The DL380G3 only goes to bay 5, which has the tape drive.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;So it's showing a missing drive in a bay that doesn't exist?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;How do I remove 1:6 from the array, so I can add in the new drive?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Not to worry about 0:0, it was only saying that before I installed the HP kernel raid drivers. hpacucli is also now reporting the mount points, where it wasn't before.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;0:0 is fine, the only problem now appears to be the phantom 1:6.       <description>I've finally fixed it. My first attempt at using the SCA-68pin adapter failed, I'm not sure why - might have been the scsi cable I used.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;My next move was to buy an MSA30 off ebay. Don't use an MSA30 to fix a missing drive on ID6, as the MSA30 does not use ID6! it keeps ID6 reserved (for multi-initiator?). Lucky I have other uses for the MSA30.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Finally I borrowed the 3ru SCSI tape shelf from another server, and plugged it in to the external raid scsi connector on the DL380G3 (which seems to be absent from my DL385 G1), and it worked :)</description>

      <description>&amp;gt; it keeps ID6 reserved (for multi-initiator?).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Correct, but it has little to do with today's MSA30MI. It goes back to the old DEC Storageworks dual-controller HSG/HSZ-based arrays.</description>
