Michaels answer is the solution - install 11.11 or 11.00. Since 11.11 is still supported, I would prefer this version.

I am being brought into a project that seems to have gone wrong. We have an L2000 server with a SureStore E Disk Array 12H connected to it. Originally, the server had HP-UX 10.2 prior to being shutdown last year. It was turned back on last week because someone wants to run some tests on the server. The problem starts when they update the OS to HP-UX11.23 from a cold install. Well, that wiped the two internal hard drives in the server before installing the new OS.

We now have an L2000 server with HP-UX 11.23 and it seems to be functioning without any errors except that it doesn’t see the 12H. I have looked for software, the ARM, but can’t seem to locate it.

Anyone have any ideas how I can get the server to see the 12H?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
No way!

Since all HVD SCSI stuff is no longer supported in 11.23, you cannot use the HVD HBAs and the AUTORAID too.

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately I am left with more questions now concerning the server & disk array. You are saying that the disk array will not work with my L2000 because HP-UX 11.23 does not support the disk array. What version does support the disk array? What is I install 11.0 onto the server?

Do you have any other suggestions that would help me to get the server and disk array working together?

Hi

Roll back to 11.00 or 11.11 since 11.23 doesn't support that disk array.

Hi again

Do you have an old ignite tape or image on an old backup tape? Many times, if your backups are taken offsite, they'll have an image if you are using an ignite server.
