I have here a EVA4400 in my workshop. No data, not initialized and I would like to set the enclosure ID for a new use of the system.

I connected a MSA500/1000 serial cable, terminal setting 115200 Baud. "menu" gives a list of commands like....

sidSet set shelf ID 0-99

The problem is that no combination of this command seems to work. (sidSet 0, sid Set=0 etc.) I always get an invalid argument error. Could someone tell me the correct syntax?

OK I found it myself... it's sidSet 0 0 (or sidSet 3 0)

I guess I have to type the number twice because there are 2 displays....? No just kidding but if someone could explain me what the second number means. I tried different combinations:

0 0 = ID 0

0 1 = ID 0

2 2 = ID 2

2 0 = ID 2

88 99 = ID 88

So the first number sets the ID and the second number seems not to have any influence.

Thanks for the update PDP... Mine also has no data and is uninitialized. This will just make life easier as currently the ID's are all over the place.
