SNMP hp commandview sdm subagent failed to start.

Hello Experts,

I am facing problem with commandview subagent. The agent fails to start when i stop/start the SNMP Master agent. It fails with the following error msg.

Starting the SNMP hp commandview sdm subagent
EXIT CODE: 1
ERROR: FAILED TO START SUBAGENT

Then i tried to start the agent manually by executing:

# /sbin/init.d/SnmpCmdVw start

EXIT CODE: 1

In the snmpd.log file, I could see only one error msg.

"AgentSocketPullInput: short read pending on socket close, data discarded

at line 491 in file ../common.c
".

Finally i rebooted the system and agent came up automatically.

Could you please help me troubleshooting this problem as rebooting the production server is not prefered option.

here is the HP-UX s/w level on the system

I would use a newer version first (A.1.09.02).

Thanks a lot for you reply. It would not be possible to suggest to upgrade the CMDVIEWSDM version from A.1.06.00 to A.1.09.00 untill n unless we have concerete information about the problem in that version. It will be great if you can tell me which all configuration files are there for cmdvwagt process and which is the configuration file SNMP master deamon refers before starting the SNMP hp commandview sdm subagent ?
