Hi Ezio,

First ensure, You are not managing the Storage with any other Command View instance, then you may like to restart the Command View Service from Control Panel Applet and try. If you still have this issue, as a last option, you may restart your storage â Please note, this will disrupt the Host IO on to the storage. So you need plan for it.

Regards
Susanta

Be careful! That message means that Command View cannot write the changes to the MLD. As Steven Clementi says, do you have a supported firmware on the EVA? If you try to use Command View 9.1 and firmware 5.xxx bad things can happen.

I have just checked, my XCS version is 5030 so now I understand why I am having all this problem. I found on an HP manual that there is no direct way to upgrade from 5.030 to 6.200 . What can I do to recover to a full working system?

Thanks

Upgrade that firmware on the EVA, it has to be done in several steps. First step 5030 - 5.110 is offline. Then 6.100 and 6.220, which can be done online.

5.110 here:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software7/COL15054/co-40158-1/HSV200_5110.zip

6.100 here:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software8/COL19049/co-49348-1/XCS6100.zip

6.220 here:
http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=T4256-63122

Firmware for the disks:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10/COL17475/co-71198-1/HDDBundled_Image_2009_05_12.zip

Stop using CV 9 until you have XCS 6.xxx
That means you'll need to install CV 6.02 to perform the first steps.

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software7/COL16255/co-43020-1/T3724-10009.iso

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software8/COL17042/co-46715-1/T3724-10502CVEVA_6_0_2.zip

And now you have a good amount of downloads to perform and a scheduled maitenance window to find...

Thank you for your excellent answer. However following your procedure I have encountered another problem. Here my steps:

Uninstalled completely Command View Eva 9.1

Installed Command View Eva 6.02

Tried to upgrade XCS firmware to 5110 .... failed with following error:

Command execution failed during memory allocation. Error: bad allocation

This error came up after having processed 6 segments and is trying to process the 7th.

I tried several times always with the same problem.
