Both disk were 72gb, I removed disk #2 and put in a 146gb, 3 hours later I swapped out disk #1 with a 146gb, blade went down. After the disk "recovered", I shut it down and put the 2nd 146gb drive in again. Blade booted it okay, after disks were synced up. But as you can see I am not using all of the disk space, I tried to use the "modify" command, it failed also, see below.
This bit from the show statement indicates why
Battery Pack Count: 0

Online Capacity Expansion on the E200 controller requires the Battery-Backed Write Cache option to be installed.
So you would need to get the "128MB Battery-Backed Write Cache" kit installed. As far as I am aware there is not an option to add a battery module to the included 64MB cache module.

Hello,

long ago you have build a logical array of 62 Gb on both physical disk.
By swapping 72 Gb disk with 146 you didn't reconfigure this array.

I expect you do not want to reinstall OS, what you need to do is rebuild an array to use the space you have add.

You need to boot on PSP (Proliant Support Pack ) disk or Smart Array Configuration, to run a menu that will build the new logicalArray.

Please not that depending on your OS, you might see two drive.

Jean-Yves Picard
