VA redundancy Group Help

I have a VA7400 with 30 73 GB disks attached to 2 san switch. I have two redundancy groups RG1 780GB & RG2 685GB, I have created one lun (lun1) at 740GB in RG1 presented to a windows server which is now configured.

I can create a new lun in RG2 (lun2) of 350GB but my hpux server will not see the lun in an ioscan, however they both see lun0 1GB with default WC permissions. I created a small 500MB lun (lun3) in RG1 & presented it to the unix server & I can see that in an ioscan.

So my problem seems to be that any lun created in RG2 is not visible to hpux. Can anyone help as I have little understanding of why there are two redundancy groups & why I have this problem?
During normal operation, one controller manages one RG and the other controller manages the second RG - just makes good use of both controllers.
Sorry, no idea about the real problem.

The secure manager table looks good so far. Did you check the zoning? An "armdsp -a ..." would be good.

I can see lun 3 on my windows host. The hpux host can see lun 0 which is the management lun.
I have tried three different hpux hosts all with the same problem. One other thing is the windows host also has Command View SDM installed & is managing the VA. Please see armtopology.

Thanks.

Yes that is correct, attached is an ioscan with lun 2 RG2 presented to WWN 50060b000024147b & 50060b0000241485 both hpux HBA's, and after that an ioscan with a new lun (lun 4) I have just created from RG1 to the same HBA's.

Thanks

You are probably aware of it

DEFAULT 2 0

means nobody has any permission to access LUN2, but

NODEWWN 50060b0000241484 2 WC

this WWN is allowed for CREATE and WRITE to LUN2.

You need to adjust this for all server/LUN combinations.
