Thank you for the information. I have done everything including RTFM and setting the Unit Pref for the user manage. However the "Size" field in the Create Volume page is always displayed in TB and I cannot specify decimal values.

The GUI interface allows only volume sizes which are multiples of TB and not GB. How can I create a volume of size 10GB or 100GB for example?

Hi,

I hope you can set the unit Preference.

Unit Preference. Sets the unit for display of storage-space sizes. The Auto option lets the system
determine the proper unit for a size. Based on the precision setting, if the selected unit is too large to
meaningfully display a size, the system uses a smaller unit for that size. For example, if the unit is set to
TB and the precision is set to 1, the size 0.11709 TB is shown as 119.9 GB.

You can refer the user guide for any additional info

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02520791/c02520791.pdf

Siva

HP (ITRC) is investigating the problem. For the time being I am going to use CLI. For example:

create volume vdisk vd02 size 100MB test2

The following article describes a CLI workaround.
http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=4118559&prodTypeId=12169&objectID=c02312526

You can also do the following:
Create a â dummyâ LUN of any size to bring the available free space to below 10TB.
The GUI will now change to allow LUNS to be created in GB increments.
Once complete remove the â dummyâ LUN created.
This should help you on your way in most instances.
