There is a way to get the redundancey between MSA50s. To achieve this we need to cascade the 2 MSA50 boxes and should be connected to single controller port. If you connect 2 MSA boxes to different ports on the controllers then we can't perfom array creation by using both MSA50s. each array has to manage seperately.

But i hope you can achieve redundancy even if connect to different ports on P800 subjected to you need to use software based mirroring.

Is it possible to connect two msa50 storage boxes to a p800 controller and setup raid 1+0 mirroring over the two msa's.
So if one msa50 dies the disk will still be available.

But if you cascade the msa50's wouldn't the first box be your single point of failure?
So there is no way to setup a hardware raid between the two MSA's when you connect them to separate ports on the p800?
I don't like the idea of using software raid.
