as someone suggested, you're trying to use what seems to be a point to point storage unit for a multipoint requirement.

you *could* try doing this at an application protocol level rather than a storage protocol level i.e

connect your MSA to a server and then share the data out using NFS or CIFS.

you could theoretically do this using the X9XXX (ibrix) servers ? but in reality you could do it with anything..

-j

Hi,

A customer has an MSA 70 Disk Enclosure with SAS interface that he could only connect to a single server with SAS RAID card.

Now the customer wants to be able to centrally share the MSA 70 Disk Enclosure for multiple servers access with selective storage presentation.

Please tell me the different options for the upgrade.

What are needed for the upgrade ?

Best Regards,
Yaboto

The MSA70 does not have this capability, it is meant as a direct attach disk shelf to a single server. You'll need to get at least an MSA2000 to be able to share storage between multiple servers. Possibly you could repurpose the MSA70 as a disk shelf to the MSA2000 controller.
