    <description>SORRY - you have no other chance than a complete backup and restore. &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;all compaq smart controllers require 1088 sectors (starting with track 0) to store raid configuration data (called RIS). this section is created when you create a disk with the array configuration utility. this will kill your MBR and some other data structures. &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;the good news: all smart controllers are data compatible .. but this is not the configuratiuon you have. &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;believe me ... you will loose data if you try to migrate to a raid controller &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;JBOD (single disk raid 0) will not solve this problem &lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt;ernesto from germany</description>

      <description>I have a Proliant 1600 with one 18.2Gb hard drive hanging off the integrated SCSi Controller. I am hoping to install a RAID Controller. Has anyone any suggestions on how to migrate the data onto the RAID set without loosing any Data. I guess there is obe way to create a JBOT???</description>
