Hi all

I have a 4400 EVA box and I can't delete a disk group. I am using the Command View to do the job.
As soon I click the "delete" button this answer shows up.

"Objects in your system are in use, and their state prevents the operation you wish to perform."

The disk group is empty. There are no vdisks defined. I really don't understand where the problem is

Did any of you face this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Pablo

did you try to reboot the CV EVA server?

Also can you tell which version of XCS and CVEVA SW are you working on.

Maybe an old FW be the cause.

Hi,

How many Disk groups are in EVA.

If it only one then you can't delete the DG. The option is to uninitialize the EVA and re-initialize.

Regards,
Siva

And the default DG cannot be deleted? Is that what you are saying?

Anyway Pablo, like Siva wrote: if you want to delete everything, why not just do an uninitialize then instead and start from scratch?

Make sure you have the WWN+checksum handy.

Hi everybody.

Thank you for your responses. I restarted de Command View but I had the same error when trying to delete de DG.
The XCS version is 09522000.

On the other side I have 4 DGs in the array.
I am not the EVA admin so I have no idea which is de defauld DG. Can you tell me how to figure out which of them is the default DG?

Best Regards.

Pablo

Hey, thanks for the picture. Turns out it's not in the UUID. Then I only know how to find that out from the "controller configuration dump" But it's quite a hazzle. Don't see why DG 2 should be the default one. I'd go with the other suggestions, try to see if you have any snapshots/clones that have their stuff on another DG.
