let's consider it was a MSA1000, and people said it could be managed by ACU,is that right? and it is an HP_UX 11.11.

Well, there is an ACU as CLI for HP-UX, but I have never seen it.

Consider to use ACU from a windows/linux proliant or the CLI over serial line (even from hp-ux).

it is so expensive for me to manage MSA using cable, so I just want to know how to manage MSA from os.

You probably know the ACU from windows, this is a nice GUI.

There is also an OS based CLI available, also a version for hp-ux (a CLI, no GUI).

The CLI over serial line is running on the controllers, you just need to connect via a serial cable (9 pin to RJ11) directly to one of the controllers to get access to this CLI.

an ironic fact is that this serial cable for MSA cost more than one thousand YUAN here, much more than i could afford

There are two CLI's. One is with serial cable to the front of the controller.

The other is ACU-CLI which is accessing the msa over SCSI or however the server access the storage.

The first batches of the MSA1000 did not come with a cable.
