    <description>VMFS-partitions are automatically aligned to 64KB if you use the VI/vSphere-client.&lt;BR /&gt;VMDK-containers are aligned due to the VMFS blocksize.&lt;BR /&gt;Guest-OS partitions are not always aligned - depends on the OS version.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HP claims that alignment is not necessary for EVA virtual disks (there was one exception for VRAID-5 data on older EVA-3000/5000 vdisks).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;But it won't hurt if you do it anyway and then the guest is prepared if you migrate to another storage array.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
