Good afternoon,

I have replaced a failed hard drive in the MSA fc2012 storage array. It's rebuilt the RAID ok.

I'm now getting the following error in the event log, yet no other errors are showing in the admin portal for the MSA. Does this indicate the drive doesn't have SMART capability?

C 05-20 13:42:07 314 A3714 FRU type: drive, problem: encl 0 deviceID 0.
Hi,

Yes SMART feature is enabled. So you are getting those messages.

Can I request you to share the store.logs file?

Please find the procedure,

http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=120&prodSeriesId=3687115&prodTypeId=12169&objectID=c01907232

There is one to verify a vdisk integrity (don't know if there is one to check one specific disk) - you should be very careful with it and only use that if HP support asks you to.

Can you please confirm when you have replaced the drive at the location Enc 0 Slot 0?

I have seen there are multiple medium errors for the locations with serial number,

S/N: 9QK2QGAW Enc 0 Slot 0

S/N: 9QK0R43S Enc 0 Slot 8

S/N: 9QK0QR57 Enc 0 Slot 2

S/N: 9QK0L6W5 Encl:0 Slot:4

I hope you need to replace these drives one by one.

I would suggest to log a case with HP and proceed.
