topic VA7100 Failed disk in Disk Enclosures

Last night a VA7100 downed a disk that had recovery maps on it. Now armdsp shows that the recovery maps aren't redundant along w/ the failed disk.

My problem is that the array will stay in the warning state until we get a replacement drive (probably monday)... Does anyone know how to tell CMDVSDM to stop polling the device and reporting the known error? I've told the EMS monitor to stop alerting me, but not sure where to go for CMDVSDM. Here's the repeat message.

"syslog: CVSDM; MAJOR WARNING Event Code=204; One or more disks have failed.;..."

Thanks!
-denver

Hi, Denver.
You replace a new disk but the VA still in warning mode?
So that you could check the controller by using command: armdsp -c, armdsp -s, armdsp -t: show the topology of back end loops, armdsp -p : display Port Loop ID of host ports.
I think if everythink is OK, may be the LCC has problem.
One time I have the same error.
Best and regard.
Jim

The drive failed and has since been replaced... my question was how to stop the repeat CVSDM message to the syslog. I knew how to turn of the EMS alert, but not the CVDSM.

The drive was replaced monday and the message to the syslog.log is gone as expected.

-denver
